preperations
the repurposed box is a tight fit
wheels, bars/stem, saddle/seatpost all off
surprisingly the driveside crank too
the 60cm seat tube and chainring were too tall
steerer tube is at the limit as well
using blocks of wood as fork/frame spacers
liberel application of cardboard padding
lots of packing tape as well
fenders not shown but they're going too
now it's time to sort and pack the rest

the crosscheck is going into rando/touring mode
panniers thrown on the back
frame bag to hold the small bits
jersey pockets for food and what not
fenders and computer to mount up as well
fresh tires already in place
drivetrain should be fine
brakes just freshly overhauled
hopefully another long ride will occur
then in just over two weeks
box it all up and take the bus to pgh

riding has been spotty with soft pedaling only

it was one of those rides that just resets your outlook
lingering doubt is left behind as the legs spin with ease
pavement-dirt-gravel all pass under the rolling tires
not fast, but steady tempo for sixty four miles
a turn towards the end negates the favorable wind
but it's less a bother than anticipated
i really needed this ride
