a brief moment of silence

today marks the return of school buses
and jackass teen drivers.
i'll be sure to rise earlier tomorrow
and get moving in the predawn darkness
finishing my commute before theirs even starts.

nothing so fine as new cranks on a wednesday

the origin 8 single/double 110 bcd square taper cranks matched up with a 68x118mm bottom bracket will give you a fine and dandy 52mm +/- chainline to align with that cog out back on a 135 mm spaced crosscheck.  centering the chainring on the crank was a breeze allowing optimal chain tension.  finish is ok but for the price it looks like a winner.  don't expect a follow up review but if you don't hear me bitch about it later, it's most likely doing fine.  couple more pics here.

quiet days return

its hard to understand
why/how this happens in cycles
months of quiet
then without warning
interrupted by self absorbed assholes

just gotta keep the senses finely tuned
read the road and traffic
see the tricky spots beforehand
take up all the space that you need
and keep at it
day after day
