xcheck still rolls on 28mm ribmos. they're thick and tough but don't ride too harsh.
the studs came used but in fine shape from a friend. they can't be beat on ice. you wanna worry and be extra cautious but so long as you don't act like an ass you'll stay upright.
that said, it's still cars i worry about. they can slide and unplowed shoulders aren't awesome. my route isn't all picturesque backroads so i've got to figure other factors as well.
i'll most likely mount them up soon stealing the wheels off the mt bike so swapping treads won't be a pain as conditions change.
